Photos sent through VMP Messenger are now compressed to a maximum 2048-pixel side at JPEG quality 70 — visually indistinguishable from the original at quality 80, but roughly 60% smaller in file size. A 5 MB iPhone photo becomes around 600 KB. If a result still exceeds the 2 MB cap, the encoder steps quality down further until it fits.
Send up to several photos in one message and the chat renders them as a single horizontal carousel pill rather than a vertical wall of separate messages. The recipient swipes through; the chat list shows a single thumbnail.
Record a voice clip from any chat and send it. The recipient plays it back inline. Voice clips are encrypted in transit and at rest, like any other media.
The per-file upload cap is 100 MB. Uploaded media — images, video, voice clips, documents — is encrypted at rest on the server with AES-256-GCM. Files are retained for 30 days, then expire and are removed. If you want long-term storage, opt into Google Drive backup; the encrypted file lives in your own Drive, not ours.
